Acre and larger lots, drives that run two hundred feet to the house, and outbuildings that need a pad under them.
A different scale of concrete
Waxhaw and the land around it is acre lots, five acre lots and horse property. The driveway is not a twenty foot apron, it is a two hundred foot private road, and the concrete decisions that go with it are different.
At that length the questions become where the water crosses it, whether the whole run needs to be concrete or only the section near the house, how a vehicle turns around at the top, and what thickness the section a truck actually uses needs to be. A trailer, a tractor or a horse box is a serious load and it is not going on a four inch residential slab.
Barns, shops and equipment pads
Big lots come with outbuildings. A workshop, a barn, a run in shed, a generator, a trailer that needs somewhere level to sit that is not going to sink in a wet spring.
Those pads need the load worked out first and the drainage worked out second, because a pad in the middle of a field with no fall on it becomes an island in a puddle every time it rains hard. Slab and footing work for outbuildings is on our Google profile and it is a lot of what we do on this side of Union County.
Downtown Waxhaw is its own job
The older core around the rail line is small lots, narrow streets and mature trees, and it is nothing like the acreage that surrounds it. Tree roots lift walkways, drives are narrow and old, and access for a truck is genuinely tight in places.
Those jobs are smaller and more finicky, and they are worth pricing on their own terms rather than as a scaled down version of an acre lot job.

They then poured the concrete the way it was specified with the higher strength concrete mix. Grading was done very well on a sloped lot and areas of water were identified for the right runoff to ensure longevity and mitigate any erosion. Price was very competitive over other bids.
