The last big lots in Mecklenburg
Shops, barns, detached garages and the pads under them, plus the long driveways that reach them.
Where the workshop goes
Mint Hill has kept lot sizes that most of Mecklenburg County lost, and what people do with that space is build things on it: a detached garage, a metal shop, a pole barn, a covered parking structure.
All of those start with concrete, and all of them go wrong in the same way if the pad is designed for the building instead of for what goes inside it. A shop with a two post lift, a shop with a truck in it, and a shop with a lawnmower in it are three different slabs.
Anchor bolts and post layouts come first
For a metal building or a pole barn, the anchor bolt or post layout has to be in hand before the forms go up. Setting bolts to a plan is straightforward. Moving one afterwards means core drilling and epoxy, which works but is a worse joint and an avoidable cost.
If your building supplier has not sent the layout yet, that is the thing to chase before you book the pour, not after.
Long drives on a working property
A driveway that a work truck, a trailer and a tractor use is carrying loads a family car never gets near. On a Mint Hill property that usually means more thickness on the section that takes the traffic, more attention to the base, and turning space designed in rather than improvised at the edge.
It also means thinking about where the water crosses the drive, because on a long run through a wooded lot it will cross it somewhere.

At the recommendation of our neighbor we used Ivan and company @ I.V Concrete Services to have a much needed driveway installed. The guys were on time, maintained an open line of communication with us throughout the process and did an absolutely phenomenal job. This is by far the best looking concrete work I have ever had done.
I am very happy with the work that IV Concrete services provided. They were able to complete a massive driveway within only 2 days. Very good finish and didn't skimp out on material thickness. Ivan is great to work with. Very reasonable prices for the work provided.
They did a fantastic job to help decide on the right solution for two walkways that are at declines at different heights. They then poured the concrete the way it was specified with the higher strength concrete mix. Grading was done very well on a sloped lot and areas of water were identified for the right runoff to ensure longevity and mitigate any erosion. Price was very competitive over other bids.
They arrived on time, communicated clearly about the process, and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations. The concrete was smooth, perfectly poured, and looks fantastic. Not only was the job completed quickly, but the attention to detail really stood out.
Hired IV Concrete to do a pad for a shop. Awesome work, great finish, great job overall. Left no mess behind, extremely clean job. Ivan is a pleasure to work with. Cant wait to work with him again in the future!
If you need concrete work done, this gentleman did what he said for the price we agreed and completed job on time. Owner is a perfectionist as well as honest and humble.
Concrete work in Mint Hill? We will come and look at it, free.
Yes, and it is a lot of what we do out here. Get the anchor bolt layout from your building supplier before the pour so the bolts are set rather than drilled in afterwards.
Yes, and it is important. A two post lift concentrates the whole weight of a vehicle onto four small base plates. That wants extra thickness and reinforcement in those locations, decided before the pour. Tell us at the estimate.
No. Mint Hill is inside our normal service area and the inspection is free there like everywhere else we work.
